The One Direction star looked dejected when he could not get his chopper to work as he tried to enjoy a ride in the posh Pacific Palisades area.
The sulking star, who tried to hide his identity by refusing to take off his helmet while he waited for help, seemed distraught as he sat on the pavement while desperately calling for help.
But luckily aid was soon at hand, with a rugged roadside recovery worker arriving to give him a lift back to West Hollywood.
The 20-year-old was joined in the truck by an older assistant, who seemed to be given the X Factor loser a dressing down as they left the scene.
And when he finally arrived at the bike shop it seemed he was given bad news, as he looked glum as a worker emerged to give him an update.
